Five asteroids are approaching Earth today, according to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

They are called 2024 SY5, 2024 RJ32, 2024 SL3, 2024 SZ1, and 2023 GM1.

These asteroids will pass by safely and do not pose a threat.

Asteroid 2024 SY5 is about the size of a bus (9 metres).

It will come within 1,640,000 kilometres of Earth, which is about 4.3 times the distance to the Moon.

This close pass allows scientists to study it more closely.

The second asteroid, 2024 RJ32, is 40 metres long, similar to an aeroplane.

It will pass at a distance of 2,930,000 kilometres, or 7.6 times the average distance to the Moon.

This size gives scientists a chance to learn more about it.

The third asteroid, 2024 SL3, is the size of a house (19 metres).

It will approach from 3,130,000 kilometres away, about 8.1 times the distance to the Moon. This distance is safe.

The fourth asteroid, 2024 SZ1, is 34 metres long, about the size of a plane.

It will pass at around 4,210,000 kilometres, which is about 11 times the average distance to the Moon.

Finally, the smallest asteroid, 2023 GM1, is 12 metres wide.

It will pass by at a distance of about 5,900,000 kilometres.

All these asteroids will have safe passages, allowing scientists to observe them.
